The Fox and Hounds, South Godstone, is looking forward to welcoming back locals following a £45,000 investment in its outside seating areas.

The investment saw long-term Pub Partners, Ellie Conway and Nick Charles add a Garden Room, which features an inside and outside area for locals to enjoy throughout the year, four seating pods overlooking the garden, a sheltered seating area alongside the entrance to the pub, and an extended seating area at the front of the pub. The investment has created a further 50 covers for members of the local community.

To celebrate the new additions to the pub, the local Women’s Institute (WI) will be attending a reopening event, with an official ribbon cutting to mark the occasion.

Ellie and Nick, who have been running the pub for over nine years, said: “We couldn’t be happier with the new seating areas at the pub, and are extremely excited to celebrate the reopening with a ribbon cutting. Having been here for almost a decade, the Fox and Hounds has really become a hub in the Godstone community, so to be able to offer our locals somewhere to sit and enjoy the sunshine after such a difficult year really is wonderful. This investment from Hawthorn is testament to the support they give their Partners, not only during the pandemic, but always.”

Andrew Parker, Director of Leased and Tenanted Operations at Hawthorn, said: “It’s great to see another fantastic example of our investment scheme. We wish Ellie and Nick all the best with the new features at the Fox and Hounds, and we are delighted that they have chosen to renew their tenancy at the pub.”
